The Dartmoor Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy evolved out of SPACE for Counselling.   SPACE  began life as a Devon County Council specialist counselling youth work project in 1997 and continues to this day having been an organisational member of BACP since 1999. SPACE facilitates the provision of counselling in a number of Devon schools  and along with the Dartmoor Centre provides counselling to vulnerable adults who might not normally be able to afford a counselling service.

All associated with  SPACE and the Dartmoor Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy are passionate about supporting disadvantaged and vulnerable clients to lead creative and empowered lives - we care.  Students comment that the Dartmoor Centre  is a place of warmth and safety.  The large Victorian House offers a gentle and informal training environment.  An environment where students can work and eat together, enjoy the gardens and such specialised facilities as the dedicated Sandplay Room.  Ken Rabone's work on Sandplay has been published nationally and in the United States. Courses at the Centre are creative, holistic and professional.
