This is a fortnightly 10 day fun and skills focused programme. It is designed for qualified counsellors and mental health professionals of diverse orientations. The course will enable you to confidently add CBT as an important dimension of your practice and improve your employment chances within the NHS, as well as developing its usefulness as part of a longer and deeper psychotherapeutic process.
The course is taught by Ken Rabone who as an Integrative Practioner is ideally placed to present the Humanist and creative nature of CBT. Many of the ideas of CBT are not unique to the modality. The course is designed to equip counsellors with the structure and tools to make CBT work within the context of their previous training. Role play, real play, and a range of imaginative excercises will be used for the development of skills. Socratic dialogue is illustrated and taught as an accumulating skill throughout the course.
The course meets approximately every two weeks. The Diploma is awarded on the basis of attendance and the completion of a creative portfolio. Each week the course provides a range of bespoke resources and activities to build your creative portfolio and ensure you can practice CBT with confidence.
