Supervision Training
This course will be of interest to counsellors/psycotherapsists, health professionals,social workers, teachers, and all caring professionals.This course is fortnightly for 12 days.
This course is led by Ken Rabone. His present supervision work includes Devon County Council Counselling Service, charities, counsellors in schools, in private practice, and students in training
This Supervision training is a course for practioners of diverse orientations and designed to enable particpants to develop, and consolidate their skills as a supervisor within their own professional context. Within an Integrative framework the thinking and practice from the major therapeutic styles are incorporated, and participants are encouraged to relate the course content to their own professional orientations.
The overall aim of the course is to enable supervisors to increase their competence and confidence and develop their practice,
This course is suitable for supervisors and potential supervisors of all levels of experience. It is particularly suitable for career enhancement and those seeking future managerial positions.
Course members who come from related professions are expected to have some training in counselling skills.

Course Content
The course will involve a cyclical and developmental engagement with the themes outlined below.

Knowledge and understanding of what Supervision is.
The nature of the Supervisory Relationship – the working alliance
Contracting in Supervision – The role of the Supervisor – the process and skills of supervision
The Supervisee’s role and responsibilities – and the issues affecting the supervisee
Supervision and the Learning relationship - Individual and Group Supervision
Creative Feedback in Supervision – facilitating reflection –
Creative interventions in supervision
Resolving Conflict in Supervision- the Ethical Model.
Assessment and Evaluation
The Diploma will be awarded on the basis of attendance and the production of a creative portfolio.
